Howzit guys
heres a full report.
Friday we got there around 4pm. after settling down, took a walk to the beach.
SW was starting to pick up, water was stuffed. fishing cancelled.
had a braai and chilled for the evening.
spoke to the other campers and anglers.
fishing terrible at the moment.
1 salmon came out the whole week according to most of the guys, +-2-3kgs.
Saturday
got to the beach at 7am.(was a long nyt) Wind settled down but water was churning and turning all over.
walked north for about 2.5kms looking for a nice spot.
nothing good.
onthe way back 30mins walk from resort, found a small channel and bank. lot of white water action.
decided to try for some eds.
My b in law got 2 wave garrick, and another family member 1.
they wer fishing christmas trace with small hooks.
i had a #1 with a prawn choka combo - no takes.
packed up went back.
that evening wether started to settle nicely.
4pm back on the beach, decided to try north again. water was really rough.
struggled to find a spot. lotsa rolling white water all over.3 and 4 oz sinkers wer rolling crazy.
put out 4 oz grap same story.
put a big bait out, whole bonnie. no takes.
no matter what baits we tried, no takes and no peckers. baits came out untouched.
by about 10 pm guys started leaving the beach to retire for the night.
Sunday
Sunday morning heard some wild rumours. 3mt sandshark, 12 kg cob and 8 kg cob landed. all taken at mouth.
this was cleared up to be fasle.
sandshark was a lesser bout 3kg.
cob were shoal size +- 2-3kgs.
took a walk down to the mouth +- 1km.
tide was low and had a look around.
guys wer struggling to catch live bait.got to the beach bout 4.30.
spoke to a couple chaps.

just came on the bite. small guys, mostly undersize from what i saw.
some guys, who wer very rude, after telling them about the fish wer undersize had mouth. in 1 of the 11 languages of SA they told me to mind my own business and F oo coz "we" the 1s that finish all the shad in the ocean. I was

, but i couldnt do anything.
as we got to our spot, saw an angler and his son with a monster

. easy 5-6kgs.
caught on a live mullet i think and another 4kg half a bonnie length wise.
the smaller 4kg

was sent out, lines went tyt

and dropped.
i got really excited now, coz there was fish in the vicinity. sun just about to set. last light and on my double bonnie head slide

i got super excited. after a few minutes, slack line, reeled in hooks spat out
the other angler piet/pieter also went tyt once or twice. got bitten off and dropped as well.
Sat night the son pieter landed a monster 140kg zambezi, boy was he stoked. he whipped out his camera and showed us the pics.
what a beauty. well done to him. if you on UA, please post that beauty up.
After sunset things got bleak. everyone was gone and it was jus 2 anglers on the beach.
due to the safety issues, both parties including us decided to pack up and call it a night.
We did not carry cellphones/cameras to the beach becauase of safety issues.
we heard of an incident friday and saturday night.
the guys wer fishing and in the middle of the darkness, "monkeys" came to steal.
no 1 saw anything until it was too late. the 1 chap had about 2k cash, his wallet, keys etc .... all gone.
here with are some pics that wer taken during the day.
The place is beautiful, just wish the fish were on the bite.
