Vaal Dam Location Please?
« on: March 01, 2012, 10:54:20 AM »
Hi guys can anyone help me with a venue for the Vaal Dam 2 friends of mine want to celebrate their birthdays somewhere along the dam over the easter weekend.

Need a place that hopefully wont be busy, must having camoing facilities, shower and bathroom in ablution block, anyone know of a place?

I have heard Island Shores has these but its not open anymore?

Most fishing shops have the Makatoerie ( sp) guide books. There is one for the Vaal Dam, and one for the Vaal River. They give a report on all the known public venues, description of facilities, maps etc. They are really cheap and a "must have" for anyone who doesn't know the venues.

( Like me for the dam  )

I have heard through a contact that Island Shores is again open, but can not vouch fot it.
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

Krugers is very nice too... Warm water and you can do as much camoing as you want... :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl
