Last Weekend Of Feb 2012 - Vaal Dam report

So guys we were at the Vaal again this weekend, we arrived at inloop to see that there was a club social on, so we went to the other side of the farm, a place we had never fished before, to get away from the noise and overcrowded bank.

We got some great fish at this spot, not the numbers we normally get but great quantity! Here is the summary:

WalkersKiller:
5x Common Carp 100g - 1.2kgs
1x Grass Carp 50g
1x Mirror Carp 400g
1x Barbel 3.3kgs

Mrs Simpson:
1x Mirror Carp 500g

gavin erwin:
8x Common Carp 300g - 6kgs
2x Mirror Carp 400g, 500g
2x Barbel both 5kgs
1x Grass Carp 3kgs

Sean Bisset:
5x Common Carp 1kg-2kgs
2x Mirror Carp 1kg,4kg
2x Grass Carp 1kg, 3.5kgs
2x Barbel 6kg, 8kg

Gavins girlfriend also got a nice Carp and our mate James caught his first Mirror Carp. We also saw some mosquitofish and a dwarf kurper.

All Carp were caught on sweet dough, banana dough, scopex mallows. Barbel were caught on Ox Heart.

The Grass Carp took a size 12 hook with plain dough as a base and banana dough wrapped around the plain dough, strong fish!!!

Nice fish once again . How far out did you fish ? Soon we will have to change your name to Piet Pap gooier

We were fishing about 50-60 meters out for the carp and swimming thye barbel baits out about 150 meters...

Keen to try Inloop out before the winter , haven’t gooied pap in Donkey ears. Is it open to the public ? You might have reported on the place but those stamps I licked in Varsity sometimes play tricks on my memory .

Yeah it is bru, very basic though no electricity or facilities but a good venue!
