The Raggie was a result of a fresh Snoek head been paddle out.. So Can still give credit to the paddle ski on the catch  :hehe:

Thanks Guys, No record PH  :hehe: ... PB for me though... I had kept some fresh snoek heads to try target a bigg Jhonnie, rigged one up with couta wire i twisted together and paddled it out to the backline ( note only when conditions are right) u dont wana fall off doing that.. Was hoping for a BUll but instead was rewarded with a Rag bag..

Well done, again. I hope Walkerskiller read this. He wanted to catch a shark off a ski some time ago. So it can be done.!

Things have been very quiet here. Does anyone have any news of fish coming out around Durban? I know the couta and snoek are pretty scarce but sounds like there are a few YFT around. I'm hoping to get out there over the next few days, weather permitting. Is it worth trying for snoek? Any ideas/advice?

A guy on a ski got a bus YFT of 15-20kgs next to me on Saturday, fishing the area inside the barge up to Glenashley/La Lucia, I lost one which I think was around the same size or bigger - it nearly spooled me!! :-(
Haven't tried for snoek proper this year but things have started picking up, quite a few were boated off peace cottage last week and most were decent size 4-6 kgs hopefully its better season than last year.

Sorry to hear that you lost your YFT. Did you hook it on live bait or lure?

I was actually fishing for the autumn couta that you get along that stretch so I was using wire that kinked (sh1t happens), was using a very small live shad. (bat

Bad news about the lost fish and better luck next time, but thanks for the heads up on what is happening out there.
