Were cooking -  today was a blank for just about everybody, bait gone birds quiet and water temp up to 26.6 and blue but no fish...go figure!

Trust the fish to go Awol when my boet arrives for some fishing, blank again today but the Barro has fallen on its backside so its no wonder, just a question of how hard the south will blow tomorrow, theyve gotten the weather wrong two days in a row now! :cry:  Last two days miserable  on the sea!!
Still no chance on the bait with the tuna!

Trevor good going there and sure the bite does turn. The weather being wrong is no surprise however, too many fronts moving around for anyone to keep tabs on.

All the best however and waiting to hear the success with the baiting for YF. Question however: Have you got a method to get the juices/bits down deep to get the fish up. Have used a method before and it has worked but will like to get your take on it sometime.

Same great fishing, hard luck on the blanks but that is fishing I guess.
Are you getting your YFT on Conas or x-raps and squids like they use in the Cape?

They definitely do take big Konas even when close to the boat as did one 70 kg fish last week but we get most on the squids.

A mate of mine won the hout bay tuna classic a couple of years ago, fishing with a Marlin spread, outriggers the works!! We have caught a load on Konas over the years, generally we run the spread a lot further back. But I cant wait to see the results of These cape boys on Reel magic when they start fishing all bait styley!! Think there could be a slaughter!!

I have heard of some many years back that have hunted gas bottles in Rbay. Martin Visagie was one. Never got the jest of the technique but do know barrels of fish oils were involved...... w;k
