Two boats have tried the berge for bigger tuna and found nothing..elusive buggers at times!
Lost another small blue yesterday on a poor hookup on 30lb and had another go this morning but no bites. Swell on the rise and due to get unplayable for the weekend so the sofa and some sport viewing will be on the cards. Fishing has been off for a while with this 'hot' water. Water colour on outside is spectacular but very few fish! Third cyclone in 2 months has also caused chaos with the weather with more to come..

Dont even think about fishing on the North coast till next week some time. Craziest forecast I have ever seen in the summer for this area. Swell wont drop below 5 meters till next week with another pulse of 7-8 meters Sat with 70 knot SW winds??? Winter??

Back in the saddle after a 3 week layoff and we were straight into the action after only 15 minutes trolling. Nice Wahoo of 25 plus kg followed by a blue

that smoked 700 metres of line off the long rigger. Got cleared and settled in and was gaining line when she pulled free..thanks for coming!

20 minutes later a nice Dorado and another Wahoo and the first hour had flown by! Went looking for another blue on the outside and then on to the 1200m line to find a yellowfin. Had two lures knocked out of the clips by a Spearfish and then got pack attacked by Dorado. Found birds on the 1200 line working on big Skipkack and landed a few of them too!! All quiet after midday, what an awesome day on the water with no swell, sunshine and a calm sea. Sure the new Oakley lenses made the day even sweeter! Only thing missing was the charter who had booked us and failed to pitch

Out today with Dale and Mike on Baluga..couple Dorado and some Kouta, marlin quiet. Anyone else get some billfish?

Only a couple of Kouta today on the inside may go deep tomorrow for the illusive Yellowfin and the BIG BLUE!!

Where did you get your Couta? any decent fish showing up yet or still the junior bobs?

Where did you get your Couta? any decent fish showing up yet or still the junior bobs?

yes better start doing our homework for out trip. I'm actually thinking of cancelling DBSC Festival in order to make this trip happen

Got one of appr 20 that a shark hacked and a few 10 but no busses, very patchy!

Seems like some action starting up on both the Billfish and Tuna side with some good releases in the Mapelane comp and a few tuna in the 70-80 kg range starting to pop up. Pity about the weather this weekend but some definite trips out early next week if the weather permits. Have brought a fridge full of quality sardine up to see if we can get these tuna here on the bait like the Cape..time will tell..

Didn't get one on the bait but we got a bomb on the troll, unfortunately too late in the day to have a full go on the bait. New Junior record 82 kg Yellowfin for Richards Bay!

Great fin there Trevor. Congrats to the angler and nice record.

Looking forward to the results of a full go on bait however. Have you planned where specifically or just visual location in the area?
