We always pass a sign "Bass fishing" near Ifafa when going South. Would this be the same place? If so, we heard that bass fishing is very good with camping facilities, etc. available. Very basic though. I can't comment on the requirement of a boat. sry

If you take the Ifafa turn off the N@, get to the T-Junvtion and turn right - (not towards Ifafa - but going back northwards) you will see the dam on the right hand side after a few km. I am often at Elysium and have always been tempted to try it when the surf is bad. But, I hate the smell of bass, so I usually just park off instead. I will try it one day....
