Garbled message when copy and pasting...
« on: September 07, 2011, 09:26:46 AM »
Often when copying from another source and pasting into a new post, the copied text will convert all the BB Code and display it in the message.
Errors often occur when the font used is not supported on the forum, especially with different sized text and bolded fonts.

If you've already posted onto UA and find garbled text, then THE easiest way to fix this is to:
>Click Modify - to modify your post
> HIGHLIGHT ALL THE TEXT,
> then click the button as in the pic below...
> then click save.

This will cause the message to display properly. Now if you want to Bold some text and stuff, you can still edit and do it.

Hi Tony

I have experienced this with one or two posts that I have compiled in MS Word and then pasted onto the forum, but it was not all that difficult to sort out with the edit function. Is there a preferred font or style that we should use in word for best compatibility with the forum?

I find it best to copy to notepad as it is a pure text error, and does not bring any of those silly word formatting with it.

Hi Tony

We have the same problem on our website and always advice the guys to use NotePad. Its format works well....from word to notepad and then to the post
