Hi guys

We are starting

first Freshwater fishing competition which will run on a yearly basis from September - September every year.

Competition Rules

*Comp will close on the 1st of September 2012
*Any member on ultimate angling can submit a catch
*An angler can submit the same fish species more than once for points
*A submission must have a picture, anglers forum name, date fish was caught, tackle and venue and weight estimation (Please see example below)
*Members may ONLY submit photos of fish they have caught. No submissions will be accepted for anglers posted on someone elses behalf
*Any angler from ANY Country may participate
*If no photo is provided, a witness from UA will be accepted
*Any body of water can be fished at any location
*The more fish you catch and submit the more likely the chance of you winning will be!

Submission Example

Anglers Name: WalkersKiller
Date: September 1 2012
Fish Species: Barbel (Category : Catfish)
Points: 40
Tackle: Shimano Nexave, Okuma Salina, 2 kilogram line (Will get 25 bonus points)
Venue: Loskop Dam
Weight: +/- 8 kgs

How the Points Work

Every fish you catch will count towards your year points. You can enter as many fish as you like of the same species regardless of the size. 25 Bonus points will be awarded to an angler who catches a very large fish of its species or an angler who catches a good size fish on very light tackle. Here are how the points are allocated below:

Category: Kurper 20 points
Category: Mudfish 30 points
Category: Catfish 40 points
Category: Bream 40 points
Category: Trout 50 Points
Category: Bass 50 points
Category: Carp 50 points
Category: Yellowfish 50 points (Largemouth Yellowfish - 100 points)
Category: Tigerfish/Pike 100 points

Other Fish Species: 15 points

The angler with the most points during the competition - Ultimate Angling Jacket
Angler who catches the most species - Ultimate Angling Cap & Beanie
The angler who catches the biggest fish during the comp - Original Painting Of The Angler And His Fish, so please take photo's guys!

Oh... and we'll be in Botswana & Caprivi next year Aug/Sept for two weeks, maybe i can rack up a few 100 pointers while there, just hope I can post from there.

Adolf, even if you cant upload from there we can extend the comp... Will see whats happening closer to the time hopefully a lot of guys show interest and we can have a great comp!

Thanks WK. Unfortunately this was it for the day (except for the sunburn, forgot my sunblock

). Next weekend should be a points machine, watch this space.

The weather is getting lekker now, i think in 2-3 weeks time it will be all systems go for some good bass fishing. I've been fishing solo lately, my wife is busy working on her M.
Next time I'll give you a shout then you can maybe join me.

Just a Question on the pictures as I like to land unhook and release without taking fish out of water would it be all right to post photos of fish in landing net? I do have a scale on net that is not as accurate as it should be but, it would give an estimate weight.
