John F's DIY: Flat line rod holders
« on: August 02, 2011, 10:33:48 AM »
All the rod holders on my boat are standing up... and sometimes I need to have flatter lines for those shorter positions or even for drifting... Scotty rod holders were not an option as I don't have a trolling board...

So I designed these vertical mounting rod holders... my dad did the fabrication...

At this stage I have 2 coasts of primer and a coat of Tectyl rust preventive... will add a couple of coats of enamel...

Roll on summer!

This was done over the weekend... I know it will rust, but hey who cares!? Will paint it again and again... and costs almost nothing!
