So Tuesday was my final day on the water before my return to ice cold Jozi so I was determined as hell to break by Couta duck.
The day started off really slow with no action, we eventually moved to the Umhlanga barge where some 10 ski's were hanging around and told us that the YFT and a saily were in the area we sent our livies out and drifted in the vicinity. While on the drift I was jigging and had a good laugh after I hooked a sand soldier on the jig in mid water, the jig was bigger than the fish, lol. The YFT evetually made a pass and grabbed our livie on the surface and we had our 1st zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz but the bugger managed to take the Maasbunker with out touching the hook.

While the YFT were still around we hooked a bonnie around them on a spoon and we had our second zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. We quickly rigged the bonnie up and sent him down. Things then went quiet and after maybe an hour off the bonnie went zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz the fight was on after about 5 minutes I got bitten off

as you can imagine I was not impressed. Was it a Couta or shark I will never know but boy was I pissed.
After this things got quite and I decided it was time to test our Demon tackle small cona's. We slowly made our way out to the 60m mark and found 26c water. I set the spread with the Demon lures and they smoked beautifully. It was not long before we had our first zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz on the demon lures. We had a dolly on & it was Ryan's (13) turn on the rod, shame the little guy battled with this dolly for a good 20 minutes. Evetually bringing his first Dolly to the boat wich was gaffed and as it was pulled up to the boat lashed out broke free from the gaff bounced off the gunwale snapped the 20lb maxima line and swam off with my purple/black demon lure. Boy did I give myself a few choice words as I was on the gaff

. Now I was determine to get another and quickly pulled another demon cona from the lure bag and set out again. It wasn't a minute and bang zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz quickly brought in a skip jack and sent back to the depths. We eventually ended up catching a fish on each colour of the demon lure kit pulling in & releasing 5 skip jacks.
We had told the ladies that we would be back by 11am it was 3.30pm when we eventually called lines up, we were just having to much fun. We had a great day on the water with nothing in the hatches but with plenty smiles on board.
Unfortuantely no photos, for the 4 days we spent on the water a camera never made it on board.

Lucky for a cell phone the day we got our saily.
PS. Bennie can I get another 4 bags of those 6 pack lure kit's they are
