I just got word that Ile de Pain on Thesen Island is on fire. Let us hope they can contain it quickly. The lady that I am doing draughting work for has an office right next to it.

We are currently load shedding and I will update as soon as I get more info.

So far there are no reports of injuries but the architects on the above the bakery will probably loose everything. Their central server is in that office.

The fire seems to be under control and Jo was able to evacuate her office. Ile de Pain and the offices of CMAI were destroyed. I will give an update tomorrow again when I get more info. Good night and be thankful for what you have because it can be taken away in a heartbeat. God bless.

We certainly are not the only residents of the Knysna area and it warms my heart to see that these animals are still around and doing well in the forest.

"It's confirmed that a leopard has been spotted in the Diepwalle area of the Knysna Forest by SANParks' scientists. The sighting occurred in broad daylight at about 12:50 on Saturday, May 2. SANParks recently released footage depicting the leopard in its full-colour glory walking along a dirt path in the forest."

"An elusive Knysna Forest elephant made his (or her) mark during the night of Wednesday, May 13 when the mighty beast overturned a heavy Bell logger in the Goudveld Forest plantation. During the previous night the elephant also punctured one of the vehicle's expensive tyres."

Great news! I do think there are more leopards in the area including the Outeniqua mountains.

Charles, the guys working with my wife says that they often see Leopard tracks and actually see them every now and then. We regularly go for walks in the forest and sometimes I get the feeling that we are being watched.

They are so well camouflaged that you will walk right past one without knowing it is there.

No, I am not complaining at all.

We also need the rain as it was very dry the last couple of months. I have a fire place, enough wood and a good Merlot in the cupboard.

Thunder and lightning in June. It has also started to rain again and people in low laying areas should be vigilant. The ground is saturated after yesterdays 100mm of rain and a sudden heavy down pour can result in flash flooding.

There have been two shark attacks in the Knysna area in two days. Yesterday a surfer was attacked in Plettenberg Bay and this afternoon another attack took place in Buffel's Bay. Hectic

KNYSNA NEWS - There has been a second shark attack in the Knysna area.
A teenage boy was attacked at Buffel's Bay this afternoon.
The victim has been airlifted to hospital in George.
Early reports indicate that one of his legs was severed in the attack.
Knysna NSRI and emergency services are still on the scene.

In another incident, a young surfer was attacked by a shark while surfing in Plettenberg Bay yesterday afternoon.
