« on: March 08, 2011, 07:53:55 PM »
Hi Guys

i wanna upgrade my rod carrier holder (front on bakkie)
where can i get solid plastic 80mm high at least, 800mm long and width 40 to 50mm.
the wood i currently have has done it's share of rod transporting.
if anyone knows, please tell me too.

guys

thanks for the replies.
the rear holder is fine, it's the front one that looks tappet and needs to be replaced.

will post a pic of the rear, so you can get a idea.
thats why i would like to get a solid plastic, so i can form what i want to.

Yup the Thule Roof racks are the bomb, have had mine for about 6  or 7 years now and have taken a serious beating... just very expensive though.

I think the ones SS is talking about are the vertical rod holders like they use in Nam on the beach...

Also try a company in Kwazulu/Natal... It's 'Durban Plastics', they sell similar plastic products to Maizey's just alot cheaper. What I normally do is ask for off-cuts, there's normally a bin in the back with all sorts of Polycarbon, Polypropylene, etc. The only thing is that you can't always get the colour you want.
