Hi guys, went to Loskopdam this weekend with a few of my friends and the girlfriends...

The fishing was tough to say the least and everyone else gave up except me and I have the bad sun burn to prove it  <: I fished a few hours on Friday, all of Saturday and a few hours on Sunday. The weather was so strange it was either 35 degrees or it was pouring with rain, nothing in between...

I tried everything I had with me but couldnt manage any consistent fish... On the Friday I managed to get 3 Largescale Yellowfish, with the biggest being about 300 grams, not the target species as they are so wild there... A friend of mine - Warrick got a small Common Carp that weighed 500grams... The next day a few of the others fished for a bit and caught a few Yellowfish, we got 8 in total... I fished the whole day and managed to get my PB Mirror Carp, not massive, but it is my PB, it weighed 1.1kgs... I lost a big fish before this though, have no idea what it was but it was big, possibly a Barbel... My policeman went crazy and I struck I was vas the fished peeled line like A Raggie would do for a few minutes and I gained some back then the line went slack... I was so  swr angry but then it got worse as I reeled in and someone elses Carp rig was tangled around my top swivel... I presume the fish swam me into this and then with the weight of the rig and feeder attached to my line the fish managed to pull the hook  <:

It was still a good trip I would much rather be fishing and catching nothing than working or sitting at a pub  :sml:

Bait that was used were Koo Mealie kernels and caramel floaties... Used plain Hemp Seed as a feed and tru berry and tiger t match dips...

Thanks Glenn, its a pity I didnt get any bigger or more Carp, but next time I will (Hopefully)  :hnthnt:

I will hold thumbs for you bru.. Try this tip for bigger carp .. Pepperroni - hot chilli flavour, and put 1 sweet corn on top of it on a hair rig.

What you looking for to buy is this .. The Original one is green in colour and is the pork flavour.

The other colour is the Hot Chilli flavour, which I will be trying when start of March approachs.

Remember to peel the skin back, as the flavour will seep out when in the water attracting the carp much quicker and use different sizes when you cut it .. say about between 4-5 cms.. use baiting needle and put a piece of fake sweetcorn on top... our you can put 1 sweetcorn on bottom and peperami in middle and one sweetcorn on top of that using a stop bead.. This gives a good visual to the carp and is easy to find.

The beauty about this is.. it never comes off and lasts for ages in the water. I have had really good sucess on the green original one.
