Harties 13/11/2010
« on: November 14, 2010, 10:53:21 PM »
Fished the estate I stay at yesterday with my dad and brother.

Started 5am, finished 12pm

Wind picked up at around 10h30 and the bite slowed down.

Total 14 carp landed, of which:

2x 6kg

1x 5.5kg

2x 5kg

2x 4.5kg

1x 4kg

2x 3.5kg

4x Under 3kg

All caught with single mielie/ floaties and yellow dough.

Distances from 60m to 110m.

Dips used: Supercast FX

Hookit Fruitmix

Supercast Devils Fork

Supercast HKGK

Supercast Perdeby

All fish were released successfully right after being caught.

At times the bites came through quickly, so pics weren't taken of all the fish.

Cheers,

Eugene

Nice fish there ,well done. fshg (clap)

You weren't by any chance using the glowing green phosfourescent PELINDABA POND, mutant mielies were you.  w;k :hehe:
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

GENO that was the right side of the dam. Well done there. I was at the Oewer Club on Sunday and there was just too much algea on the lines all the time causing a mess. A mate of mine came of with his boat at about 14:00 and had allready boated 24 Barbel and he said the bite was picking up when he actually left.

From the side one needs to be on your side and not the North Eastern like I was.

Good stuff man.

Thanks Reinhard,
You must come fish by me, there's some really nice carp there.
The barble went ballistic as they spawned on saturday. I dropped a helluva cat, it broke my 16lb hooklink :unhap

Cheers,
Eugene

We will still make a plan. Pity about your "Bruin Marlyn" escaping you. They allways give a good account of themselves.

Should actually put a social comp together at the dam. Would work.

I'll talk to the Estate management, then we can have it there! It's the same place where the Vaskap and Hier Gaan Ons Alweer guys fished  fshg

That sounds like a plan. This way we can get the others out the JHB fog as well. Keep me posted and let me know if you need any help at all.

We use to arrange one where the guys would camp over a weekend at Meer en See. Entry fee was R 100.00 bucks and that would be shared by the 3 biggest fish. Simple and works.
