Shoulder repair
« on: November 13, 2021, 12:41:53 PM »
I have been waiting for around a year to get my right shoulder repaired. Got covid in January, and since then covid has been running fairly rampant, and the last place you want to be is in or near a hospital. Finally took the gap on Wednesday morning (not 1 covid patient in the hospital), and got the tendon sewn up and re-attached. Some rotator cuff fixing up while the doc was busy with it. Now for 6 weeks in a sling and I should be ready for hole in the wall in June. Cottage as been booked, and barring a massive covid wave, we should be good to go, and the shoulder should be good to throw a line into the water. A bit rough not having a right hand to use, but will be worth it. Typed this all left handed

Thanks for all the good  wishes. Saw the doc today, and he sounded pleased with the outcome. The quality of the photos he took inside my shoulder are just amazing. 5 more weeks in the sling....just in time for Christmas. Starting work again tomorrow. Only 177 emails in my inbox......

Good to hear that it was a success. But the long term success comes from the physio and what you do with your shoulder for the next 5 months. My surgeon really laid down the law on my recovery and I followed his words to the T... That was 2018, and I have full use of my shoulder... Now it's all the other 61 y.o. bits that are failing  :toppie:
Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.

I did the left shoulder 10 years back, and did all the right things and it has been good ever since. Tempted to burn the horrible sling, but will wait it out and do the right thing. Physio is booked for 03 January
