Seacat 636 Opinions
« on: May 20, 2019, 03:40:55 pm »
Who here has been on a Seacat 636 and what did you think of it, specifically the ride? I have had the 565 and the ride  was, in terms of softness, "okay". The 565 was very stable and there was no  broaching whatsoever, but not the softest riding boat around in my opinion.  Certainly not as soft as a Supercat 620, which is what I have now. Any feedback  would be appreciated.

Qoute is that just an itch or do you need more space.

565
620
636

I think you need to make a bigger jump.

680?

NO sorry I know nothing of which is best.

To me Butt cats are the softest.

Don't listen to me I know very little just one or two charters a year.

What is the fishing like in Knysna?

Either I am fishing or dreaming of fishing!

I have a mooring limitation of 6.7 x 2.5 which is strictly monitored. Yeld 21/22 is just, just too wide unfortunately. Most popular 21/22ís are ruled out due to the beam being over 2.5m, apart from the Seacat.

Does the seacat 636 not have a beam greater than 2.5? I have a 21 Yeld and as far as I know, the Beam is exactly 2.5.

Shaun Yeld confirmed the beam of the 21 & 22 as 2,54m which is as close as dammit, but I cannot risk it unfortunately. The Seacat beam is given as 2.4m.

so i have fished on a lot of the 21fts on the market currently.
Honest opinion is that the 636 is one of the better riding boats around.
We traveled home from umdloti to durban in a 25knot west and i had the boat at 37km/hr. Was very impressed with it.

There is no boat on the market with finishes like a yeld cat!! And the 21 center is a beautiful ride!
