My idea of adding a plastic ring on my rod stand.
I got these plastic 50mm pole caps. Fit on the inside of the tube.

cut the center out with this drill bit

Use a half round file to smooth the edge

Peter you can buy the rubber caps for the standard rod holders from Basil Manning and they are very cheap, well done nice work !!
