Maruto Circle hooks
« on: February 27, 2018, 03:00:50 PM »
Hi Guys, has anyone here used the Maruto circles yet. They were recommended by the dude in my local tackle store when I got my heavy setup - high carbon, chemically sharpened, black nickel coated offset circles. Just under 40 bucks for 10.

Looking at the packaging i notice they are labelled as mutsu rings.. Heard of soi ring hooks.. does anyone know the difference? They seems quite similar to the other circles I have.

After some google time, I found that Maruto is one of the oldest hook manufacturers in Japan and they apparently produce more that 100 million hooks per month.

Did some searching on the local Facebook groups and found that folks have been using these for a while now. Some impressive raggies, sandies and other eds have been pulled out on them. They also make a huge variety of other style hooks. I see Basil Manning is also selling them.

Here's a link to a catalog for anyone who's interested.
