puerto vallarta with osuna brothers, 3/20 to 3/22/2017

just got back from puerto vallarta last night. fished for three days on the marla IV with the osuna brothers.
a yellowfin tuna lit up my rod on the second day. it taped out at 165 pounds. the rod is a centaur from united composites that was custom wrapped by jon vadney, the reel is an okuma makaira 16 with 100 pound braid and an 80 pound pro challenger fluorocarbon topshot from alan chui. i just now checked the drag now that i'm home and it was set to 35 pounds at strike and 45 pounds at full. total elapsed time is 9 minutes from hook up to gaff! full report to follow.
