hi guys, this is my first report on UA,
we got a last minute call from a good friend of mine, husain, who runs charters here in durban,a 9m v-cat.he said weather looks ok and he has no bay charter for the night so lets go for BEK! so i was keen as this was my first time fishing at night offshore for bek. we left at 4pm, the rain was light but on and off, little windy,SW, the sea was a bit choppy, swell was about 1.8m with about a 7-8 sec swell.
we tried here and there for bait but it was a bit swak, saw quite a few dolphins around on south pier side. with a little bird action but when we got there they seemed to have moved off.
we headed to the spots to start fishing for bek, using a fresh fillet of sardine on the hook shank and then 2 sards,1 through the eye, other through the nose.
fishing was all round quite,we didnt get manage to get any bek,and the sea turned bit k*K. 2 guys lost 2 dagga's, other guys caught 3 catface rockcod,1 sarda sarda and 1 soldier. but i caught my first dagga and my biggest fish a dagga of 22kg's!
