Fishing around the Seapark / Port Shepstone
« on: March 19, 2016, 11:48:44 AM »
Hi everyone.

I don"t get a lot of opportunity to fish the coast maybe once a year. I am looking forward to doing some serious fishing (hopefully). I rigged myself with a coastline medium along with a Penn fierce 2 and a technium heavy and a daiwa sl50. I am spending 2 weeks in August in Sea Park. Can you guys help me out with some good spots to fish and maybe which species to target that time of year? I would really like to try and catch my first shark while I am there. also is  there any one there that possibly does casting clinics or someone that wont mind having a newbie tag along?

TIA

Rather spend the time between now and August to nail your casting. You dont want to spend fishing time on practicing casting.

August is unfortunately not a good time for sharks. Its a bit of an inbetween season. Shad should however be thick at almost all spots. Your best bet is to catch some shad and put them out as live bait. You can fish sand spit at Port Shepstone otherwise take a drive up to Stiebel at Umzumbe

Your best bet is to read through Reefmans excellent casting tut on here. Then attend the next couple of socials held at Leeukop. The guys will definitely help iron out any issues
