Keeping it responsible is difficult when you see the Comms are landing tons of fish but we kept it to two a man and had still had fun without the need to rape and pillage...

Largest tail was 9,8kg, largest red steenbras was 78cm(released)and largest miss lucy( red stump) was 4,6kg - released into a pan....

Small kob and Romans were not measured or weighed but plentiful to say the least... All but 2 released....

I am sorry I missed you guys but we could not get my Sister's house this season. When are you going back to Struisbaai? I am going to see if I can get a couple of days off during the TOMT to come and give you and your team some dockside support.

Looks like we are in for at least a week of strong SE winds in CPT which will certainly change things around.
7/10 - hope that means the warmer water will push in for you - 5 weeks to go!

Did my last run of the hols this morning and tried for some new species on the long rod. Targetted the small hammerheads that are around at the moment but couldn't entice one on the fly.

Managed to get the kids a couple on their spinning sticks though which was fun - used a small 1/0 circle and a flap of china snoek.

these cape Boland guys are soft!!! Reviewing my crewing criteria.....

Tim, the water on the Alphards was 24 deg but green late last week and no fish. Both Gawie on indigo and sunseeker 2 were out and blanked.... The inshore is blue and 21 deg but as soon as the current stopped the fish went off the bite... Hopefully this bit of SE will bring back the current...

Are you coming up for the Marlin compi?

Nice hammer.... I have never tried to target them on fly... Will have to try. They really zippy and have only ever caught them by accident. Nice and well done.

With all the nonsense in the world the mediation business is rather busy - hence the travel schedule is even more hectic. Have to fit in Turkey, Syria, Nigeria and Kenya before the Struis comp so no time - and with an office in DXB, will be away for at least another week a month. Add on 4 / 5 comps a year on other boats and it is not feasible to keep her.

Anton an co got full tally tail big fish
And small kob and bek all on the bank .

The Comms (2) big blue and waggies went to die gat area got some proper kobs , 5 to 7 kg fish .
