Qora River Kob Inn
« on: September 09, 2015, 09:41:36 AM »
I am indecisive as to whether I should take my boat with me on my next holiday.  I am going to Kob Inn for a week and do not know the area at all.
What is the river/estuary fishing like and is it worth it towing a boat some 700km?

Pete I know the area quite well. There are more than enough R & S angling in that area. Roads can be very bad and a lot of rocks in the surf area. If it was me I would not take a boat with unless its a very small duck to be used in the river. One of the best places to catch sharks and some good eds

Ive fished the river once from the bank as a day trip from Mazeppa. Got a garrick and an electric ray. The fishing in the are is pretty good, and I've heard lots of good things about that river. Salt rock is the most famous spot. Big sharks and good edibles.

i last fished there some 12 years back and the fishing in the river was awesome!!
We caught and releases so many pignose grunter!! Really was great fun...

The roads were rough, but if i was going back i would definately take the boat down!!

We also got some nice pignose in the surf just north of the resort off some ledges.

Really was great fishing when i was last there!

Fishing in the river is excellent. We caught plenty Garrick when we were last there. No need to tow your boat down, the Hotel rents boats out with small outboards. Just phone them and find out if they still do this.

Pete the area has got some great fishing spots for eds. Just ask the locals when you get there. If you have a 4x4 and don't mind driving try  Shishiny mouth and the area towards Kob Inn.If you go further to wards Kob Inn there is a place called Ngadla point. Some of the best water you will find for eds and in-eds. Big black tips and more. Make sure not to miss out on the local oysters. All and all a great place. I will go back any day. If you want to save time in getting to learn the ropes and places ask reception to get you a gilly. They are very good and know all the places.
