Just a warning to those with kiddies, ritalin's active methylphenidate, is a sister chemical to Tik, methampethamine, which is itself prescribed to kiddies in a less potent form too in other countries. It doesn't relax them but gives them intense, controlled by slow release, focus. It also primes their brain for addiction later on via the dopamine pathways. This methylphenidate has exactly the same effects as speed but is actually more intense, considerably more potent and more habit forming than speed, just a friendly heads up. Ritalin is not the answer haha!First for anyone with depression, get off the sugar and get your gut flora and fauna right again, eat dirt even if you have to..dirt is half joke.. Your gut bacteria are involved with your serotonin right, get up and down cycles under control by eliminating processed foods and sugar and see the difference. Eat well and feel good, drink spring water that you get yourself and see the difference, eat veggies that you grow yourself and see the therapy value for your self. My 2c. Drugs are not answers, just tools to finding answers. Once you find the root of the problem, ie, serotonin or dopamine issue, then diet and lifestyle is the best long lasting change you can make to bring these systems back to homeostasis. Legumes and red meat feed dopamine as does getting off sugar, getting your gut and getting off sugar gets serotonin in check. Sometimes a visionary experience with a natural serotonin mimic helps with the entire thing but that heavily depends on the person and situation and of course access.
