Dowerglen Dam Revisited

Hi guys, we visited Dowerglen Dam for the first time in a while and were really surprised. The fish stocks seem to be on the increase. We had a long hot day, but was worth it. We managed a few Bass, one decent Carp and Gavin nailed some Barbel on Artlure, biggest being 10kgs!
The Carp Bait that did the damage, these floaties are the most realistic (In terms of flavour) I have ever seen!

Thanks Reefz... It is worth noting that Gavin caught the Barbel on a really small curly tail lure, on a 7'2 quantum spinning rod and sustain 2500... He said it was the best fight he has had in a long time!

that
must have been fun on the light tackle
. Using winches on small fish is no fun at all
. Unfortunately on crowded beaches there is little choice, I invariably walk away to another spot.
