Cooler box tweak!!

This is a quick (if somewhat messy) mod for those cheap cooler boxes to improve the coolness

1. Separate the two sections - you can see why they don't really work so well (some are better than others)

2. Spray sealing foam into the gaps - not too much as it expands and you will battle to keep the inside section in - this stuff is strong!!
    Insert the inner section clipping it in - put a weight to press down as when this dries it won't budge.

I used this PU foam but you can get get various brands at most hardware shops like BW.

3. Drill 9mm hole into the lid and a few smaller release holes - insert nozzle all the way and pump foam whilst slowly removing the nozzle so it spreads.

The lid is obviously the most important as it gets hammered by the sun!!

4. Let the foam dry overnight - cut off the excess and done!!

I have done a few of these crappy Addis types over the years and they make a 100x improvement, also check out the handle on the yellow one - very easy fix - why turf it if you can use it for bait

  Very nice and thank you for sharing. I have two of those Addis type ones and they don't work too well so I don' use them often. My wife complains when I take my Safari bait cooler to a braai.

I also have a 18l Safari that's never seen bait, best thing for drinks/ice at a braai, boat or camping..............plus its too expensive to make smelly

Mine is a bit smelly. I just tell the people it is the new flying fish beer, it even comes with an authentic smell.
