We fish that area a hell of alot....   If its day time and you looking for kings, then we go to 0.8mm -1mm floro trace( crystal water, it just works best),, it does make a difference ,,, we have proven it many a time. Sure you might get bitten off, but if you are targeting kings its still the best way.....   As soon as it goes dark, put 200ib steel on, cause thats when things usually start to happen in mozi, because the water is clean night time still produces and 200ib steel does the job for most things . The sharkies are also more active at night.

I have caught kings with steel in the day, but i have caught far more with nylon... A 6/0 in the mouth and a 8/0 in the back.. My last king of 40 odd kilos was on a 0.8mm floro trace. I believe that in crystal water, you have to be smart and scale down where you can.

So simple : day = nylon
                  night = 200ib steel

I generally use 120lb steel in the day and 150lb to 200lb steel in the night....all depending on the size of the livie off course and what area you are fishing. And yes this is if I am targeting eds but do not want loose out on a big toothie. I have caught cob and garrick flat out on steel, I will however say that when the water is very clean and calm I would go the mono way. I have also seen to many bus shad lost because of fishing with a mono live bait trace, so this is the risk you take.... :shd:

Boepsie, its been a while since I caught a fish to eat, so that size mullet would go straight into the frying pan if it was me.
