Alphards - in style
« on: March 02, 2015, 03:30:34 PM »
I've been given the opportunity to fish the Alphards this weekend off this beauty below. I've not been able to get to Struisbaai yet this year, so REALLY looking forward to it! We're leaving Cpt on Friday afternoon, returning Sunday night. 2 full days of fishing!! Anyone with updates from that side of the world, I'd really appreciate. We wont be spending too much time on billfish, but more bottoms & pelagics. Can't wait to experience the night fishing out there!

It's called Ocean Adventurer II, 82ft Nautitech power cat powered by 2 x 270hp John Deere's. It's used for dive, research, surf and fishing expeditions all over the Indian Ocean.

Its a bank about 80miles off Struisbaai, known for some good yellowtail, geelbek, red steenbras, tuna, dorado and Marlin.

As far as I know it is also more or less the same distance from Still Bay. Correct me if I am wrong.
