Inshore/Bay boat project
« on: February 15, 2015, 09:37:43 AM »
My new project starts (3rd time) to build a boat for spinning and fly fishing for Tigers, Bass, Estuary and Inshore.
I am starting with an empty Ace Cat 666 (22ft) hull.

Here with my Layout Design and the commencement of the project

Thanks Guys.

The resin was just delivered a few moments ago, was amazing to see how 1 guy off loads and moves a 210litre drum full of resin from the truck to my garage all by himself.

Nice little project there Michael.
Its going to be more amazing seeing a certain team of two youngsters leaving the chores for a day and move a 210L drum of resin by themselves.

Is this the same hull that was in the yard when we took Fat Girl out?

Not sure which Hull you taking about, I had that Blue Hysucat 22ft Hull but after some Neanderthal stole the neutral bar from our substation and sent 400 Volts through my house I had to stop and sell my unfinished project to replace every single electrical and electronic item in my house as it all got fried and the municipality and the insurance won't pay out for that. So it was a big set back and I have to start again from scratch.

I now have all my materials together, tomorrow we start with the transom and then onto the bulkheads.
Big job ahead, but am excited as it is all coming together and my dream is being realised.
Will post pics of the progress

So the transom thickness will be 36 mm (maybe 40 mm after fiberglassing, etc)? Can't you add another layer? Make it at least 50 mm? Or am I exagerating?

:corrct: Exactly what I am doing, am using the cut outs from the tunnel to do this and they will also be 2 x 18mm thick

Nominal thickness should work out to 36+6+6=48mm once glassed in
