Silicone tentacles to catch shad - ASFN

Hello all,
Last night I watched an episode of ASFN. The guys were fishing at Mtunzini and one of the anglers used red foam with long white tentacles to catch shad. He mentioned that the tentacles are home made using silicone.
Anyone here here familiar with this method and maybe explain how the tentacles are made?

Seen yozuris  made from clear silicon with glitter.

I suppose you can just use your silicon gun and push out long strings of silicon on a piece of wax paper , let it dry and cut to size .


I did not see the show , so don't know if it might be the way forward .
