I like that, , would it work with a circle hook? We can get very small sardines less than 100mm long, so we will try that with them for 's next time I'm at Jozini

We have used it with circle hooks before with tuna, but then we use much thinner sosatie sticks. I find the circle hook tends to tear the sides of the sardine a bit due to the exaggerated re-curve of the point. It does work though. What I'd rather suggest is using a small elastic bridle below the stick and attache the circle above the shoulders through the elastic, this will give you good hook clearance and still give the bait the desired movement.
