Witsand - Boats
« on: September 15, 2010, 10:39:27 AM »
Hi there

Going to Witsand in December and was hoping to visit the old fishing spots on the river me and my dad used to fish.
I understand that one can hire boats these days. Don't want to tow the big boat all the way there as it will only be me and the wife.
Has anyone ever hired one of these boats? If so what boats are available?

I've fished Witsand hundreds of times so i know the wind can cause havoc and i don't want to be stranded on the river in a dingy.
Thanks

I hired a boat there milleniums ago,lol,from Barry's Motel.
Suggest you log onto www.witsand.co.za (I'll double check that is correct site), and speak to the Barry's as they offer accommodation in Breede, and you'll find their names & phone nrs on this site.Think Mrs Barry is Lorraine.

i was there last year, and her & her Hubby are very helpful. But they're sure to know. Also check Breede River Lodge.Think there site is www.breederiverlodge.co.za  .They have boats, but not sure if they're charter boats,or not.But they may be able to offer some info wrt your boat queries.
Good Luck!

I would have loved to do this if we were closer to Witsand
