Wild Coast - Family destination
« on: July 31, 2014, 09:22:37 AM »
Morning knape and knapinne

Looking to arrange a family holiday somewhere along the wild coast. Never been there so need your help please.

Looking for a family friendly destination with nice beaches for the family and at the same time good light tackle fishing in the area. Preferably on or near an estuary that one is allowed to fish.

Also, not too far south if possible. Travelling with little ones and from there we will be heading to the south coast to visit family, don't want to spend to much time on the road in between.

Any suggestions?

Not too far south? Mbotyi should do the trick, ticks all your boxes.

Thanks Loly. Looking at peak period, is it relatively peaceful and quiet here over the holiday periods or is the place flooded with vaalies?

They don't have a huge amount of accommodation, so it won't be like Margate. :corrct:

If you're thinking of Mbotyi, speak to Joff... I think his family are involved in management?

Zetti , the main lodge at mkambati is really awesome, but is about about a 15 min drive away from the beach. They are busy doing redoing the gwe gwe rondavels and riverside lodge so that is closed, i'm not even sure whether you are allowed down there to fish while the renovations are going on- would be a pity if you couldn't. http://www.ultimateangling.co.za/index.php?topic=16352.0

What about wavecrest, Tommo had a show there recently, its a bit further down the coast but man im going there one day, looks awesome
