Great report Richard, sorry that the

didnt come out and play but non the less a awsome day out on the water. Sounds like you had ST(d) working hard. Must say it makes a huge difference to have good crew.

Where's the marina???

Yes we will be getting her back.. still lots to do like electronics and motors etc but she will be back on the water next session for some

So it has been a weekend of fair weather. Sea conditions where good on Saturday for a trip that was booked for some Clients from JHB. we Meet at Warnerdoon ski boat club at 5:30am and by 6:00am we where on the back line.
I had decided that we where going to run Down to Aliwal shoal to try out luck for some Dorries and Some Tuna.. it was not long after setting our Spread that we had 3 lines away.. all 3 Dorado 2 queens about 6 KG and a nice bull which i will guess was about 15kg Sadly though we only managed to boat the 1 queen as we lost the other next to the boat.. As for the Bull he gave us a good run for about 15min on some light tackle before a final jump and coming off not 20m from the boat.. So we reset the spread and worked the shallows to find a couple of small Yellow Fin of about 4 -6kg. this all before we even got to the shoal.. after doing a couple of laps around the pencil buoy the guys decided they wanted to call it a day as they had been out till 2:00am the night before and where all feeling a little

. in any case we took a slow troll back to the beach for an early day.. however after hitting the beach they decided they needed a couple of reg markers so we had a couple of Frosty

while we filleted fish..
All in all a great day however short on the water..

We hooked 1 dorrie on a rappie the other 2 on 6' Kona's, Both YFT where on Rappies..

Sorry it has take a couple of days to get this report up but have had some drama with the break in and almost setting the car alight... but that is a story for another time.

On Saturday myself Brandon from Go fish and Nick from NPB all met at Durban ski boat club for about 4:00 am to get prepaired for the day with the Breakfast stack and the Drive teams. with the Breakfast stack being the smaller team they all jumped on board Nereus.. we were all on the water by 4:30 and heading out the the ships of Umhlanga. by 5:00am we had set our spread and began to work around the ship.. the water was not great and around 22deg water colour was not good either.. but we persisted.. working our way north out to Balito and then out to the 100m and 150m line respectivly.

In any case after a could of hours with out any action Wes Brandon and my self decided to play a nice little prank on Darren and his team.. with tehm sitting up front we quietly pulled in one of the lines and rigged it to a Pick n Pay packet which we then let over board. i have to say once it had opened in the water it took off like a rocket. screaming away.. first to the plate was Mac who after a 10min fight was exhausted so Darren took over and had ago.. the packet must have taken some 400m of line off the real. but after a couple of substitutions it was Darren that finally landed the packet. Which we have on Video and will post the link soon as i get in from brandon.. saidly for us the day was very unproductive with very few fish coming out in general back at the club however it seamed to be the same as I only saw and heard of a couple of fish coming out..

As for the drive team however they did manage to hook and land 1 dorrado making them the winners for the day! they also had some fun with Andre bloem and a new galvanised bucket.. check out this Vid at http://www.ecr.co.za/post/video-andre-pranked-at-sea/
