@HP- you are quite correct, once the initial chum line is set you only need 3 or 4 pieces every minute or so to keep the trail going. Too much chum each time wastes your bait, overfeeds the fish in the chumline and often brings the brown suits

. Rather conserve you chum and keep a steady stream of 3 or 4 blocks at a time.

@HD - It will work extremely well, I have no doubt. It will also bring couta into the chum line so you may have a few bite offs, in that case rig a chunk on a 6/0 j-hook with 30cm no. 6 wire and let a chunk out on that rig and you'll snag the couta for sure.

I lost 9 Halco's to sharks on Friday off Aliwal.We were getting multiple strikes and the sharks were wild.Bait would have have been cheaper but I probably wouldn't have landed any of the tuna anyway.We got 2 out of 11....
