sodwana/boat collection report
« on: September 03, 2013, 09:17:48 AM »
morning gents

we left on Saturday morning at 3 am and made our way down to empangeni to go collect the new boat, having speculated to where to fish once the boat delivery took place we booked at the lodge next to the Richards bay caravan park planning to fish ricky bay on sunday and maybe dsbc on monday.

at about 8 am we had a look at windfinder to find that sordies was going to have a swell of 1.7m at 9 secs and the wind would peak at 9 knots so a few quick phone calls we booked at Sodwana bay lodge and cancelled richards bay  :happ:

collecting the boat

here are a couple of before pics

as you can see the boat that wayne bought was the first prize at this years guinjata compo, within a week and after a few phone calls the deal was done and we went to fetch her from the organizers and she was delivered to Z craft for final fitting

the boat at Z craft factory

tyrone and stuart from Z craft took us out in the harbour showing how all the gadgets work fish finders/auto pilot/luna tubes deck wash etc etc etc etc

loading off and on in at the slip way went smoothly and off to sordies we went

on the way shag phoned and wished us luck and asked had we celebrated yet so we pulled over there an then and...............

after some further  :frid and not much sleep we where off for a days fishing

fishing wise we werent to bothered as the main goal was to get as close as we could to 20 hours on the motors for the first service but as luck would have it we lucked a  :sailf:

wayne released the  :sailf:   and we could not have asked for better start new boat first trip and a bill to make it all quite special

note when i had the sail next to the boat somehow  :dunno: the bill snapped off  need to work on my leaderman skills i guess

we launched again on monday but we were pressed for time and did not managed any more fish and arrived home at about 11 pm last night

ps the saily was caught on a rappie in about 40 m of green water

will post some more pics soon of deck layout electronics etc etc

she looks magic congrats guys!! Only good things can come from a saily on the first launch!!

When you bill a fish try grab it initially near the base of the bill, then keep the arms stiff and push  out and slightly forward, that will keep the sharp bit away and your onto the strongest part of the bill, watch out not get yours hands between the bottom and top jaw, they can give you quite a squeeze, seen okes get a lekker skrik when they think they are getting there hand chewed off!!

Shame man your so rough with saily must be the Ben-ou-ni coming out!!

Well done guys, please delete those marks and commit them to memory w;k w;k
