MIHANZI, Vaal Dam, Oranjeville.

I have booked our companies annual fishing day ( for clients, 120 people ) at Mihanzi, which is just out of Oranjeville on the inflow of the Wilge river into the dam.
The "river" here is about 2km wide. The property is divided into 2 sections.
 On the right are the Caravan/Camping stands ( 32 off ). Each stand is 30m wide, has lawns down to the water, and then a river sand bottom all the way in as far as you can send a bait boat, or canoe. Each stand has a clean water tap, power point and a floodlight mounted on a pole. Booking is essential, I do not know the rates on this side of the property. The ablution blocks are kept very clean, and would not embarrass any lady.
 
On the left is an open area, 1.3km long, with no pegged out stands. First come first pick. Again the bottom is river sand all the way in. No VAS HAK PLEKKE. You may camp here and bring your own generator. There is 1 major ablution block and 3 satellite ablution blocks ( recently built ) all in perfect condition, with solar geysers. There are also clean " long drops " about every 150m along the bank. Rates on this side are R 50.00 pppd and R20.00 per car. Booking is not required.
 
The fishing here is generally very good, common carp, mirror carp and of course the barbell and LM yellowfish. ( PLease remember it is illegal to keep any LM yellow, and you may only keep 2 SM yellows of over 350mm fork length.)

WK, I really wanted to go to INLOOP this weekend untill i saw your recent post. Guess i will have to settle for tago as it is the only spot i think is still really productive. thanks for all the info anyways

  Kubza, its a shame Inloop is the best bank angling spot in the Vaal IMHO, and now the new farm owner doesnt permit fishing at all
