drinking straw lure
« on: July 26, 2013, 03:38:58 PM »

the DIY sabikis have had me playing with all sorts of things and this is so simple.

I have used a 1/0  O'Shaughnessy hook from Penn and a piece of drinking straw I snelled the hook onto the snood and gave it a coat of nail varnish, I used the snell knot because it gives the hook a bit of bulk at the eye end.

Then cut a piece of drinking straw about the same length as the hook, taper one end and slide on the snood, so simple
when I die, may my wife not sell my fishing tackle for what I told her I paid for it... and I have bought more, a severe case of TA

it's just an interest / hobby thing, nice to catch on something you have created I think, also the long shank Penn hook gives some prtection from the shads teeth, doubtfull if you would get a bite off
