Mornings Bamboes , no I dont...I have an old pool thermometer that I just toss in the shallows when Im down at the waters edge...it gives a good indication BUT on that note with this west puffing the last day or two , should have warmed the water up nicely ...when I last checked on Tuesday it was sitting at 17....

We have a high pressure hanging over us at the moment and the barometer is sky high...I think it will reamain steady the whole weekend and tomorrow morning the wind will switch to east ...

You have a low tide tomorrow at 10h37 and on Sunday at 11h04....also note that we have just just come off of a dark moon spring and the swell indicators are between 3 to 7 foot...I suspect we will still have a slight surge left over from the previous days heavy seas....

I think windows of opportunity for both days will be tomorrow early AM and Sunday before the east wind gets up to speed....

Good day Folks ..its been a SLLOOWWW winter for me and to be quite honest the sea has not played ball....half of March and April full month things looked good and then halfway through May it all went pear shaped...BUT..those that stuck to their guns did get some shad ...really nothing to write home about....two local youngsters who really take off shore kayak fishing to another level did very well this past winter...BUT...September is just around the corner...its getting lighter earlier and I will be after those kobbies again in a BIG way....so keep watching here for updates as from next weekend its full steam ahead!!!

..Ja look Charles...I try and keep fit....fishing and surfing is still my first love BUT when the sea doesnt play ball well then ...gotta keep oneself busy....

Good day Folks , while its been over a year that I posted here and believe me its not from NOT wanting ..its just pure and simple from not having anything to post OR report on conditions.....really...
That being said I did go for a gooi this past Sunday and its the first time in MONTHS that Ive seen half decent fishing conditions....

This reminds me of a time when my toppie told me about the Western Wall...this is the main harbour break wall in East London ...

This Wall became so famous ..a fishing club with its name was even started ...

After a typical good kob session one evening ..all of a sudden the famed Wall fell silent...

My toppie told me of the hardened fisherman never knew what to do with themselves...they now could not set their clocks/watches to the Wall as the kob ...piggies ..silvers were not coming out when they were sposed to ...sure the odd fish would come out BUT the normal patterns were all over the place and boy oh boy the fishing fraternity at that time was in a spin of note....

He told me ..this went on for nearly 4 years....I mean these guys used to swop their work shifts according to The Wall...

..anyhow..so the troubled on and then BOOM..all of a sudden the Wall was BACK!!...and life returned to normal and I bet many a household was pleased as fish started getting served on tables again at regular intervals....

The point is....prior to ...I would say Feb 2019 , I could pretty much predict the conditions by looking at the weather systems coming along our coast and call it....BUT as from Feb last year its been a prediction nightmare of NOTE and conditions have jst been all over the place....Soooo...here too , while fish have come out it certainly has not been normal...

Well , this being said Folks , I see systems coming through and I somehow getting a feeling we may just be normalising to say the least ...well for our small 80k section of the coast at least...

Will post an update here closer to the weekend...stay safe ..

I am in PE
Starting to go through all your postings and compare what you predict vs the synoptic chart with it.
A lot still needed to learn, actually in all aspects, especially in trying to predict what the baro will do in the next 24 hrs.
But in the mean time i will try to predict and compare to what you are saying, although i dont think i will pass this school year

Tony , Blessings to you and all your loved ones, and IF anybody tells you you are getting old now, just remind them you are all ready there, they must still get there

Good day Folks...went for a throw on Sunday morning..water super super cold and the colour was not bad....BUT...

What is getting me excited are the tides for this coming May AND going into June...while winter onset and winter itself is not my best time of the year for kobbies BUT ...Its probably the first time in about 22 months that Ive seen anything close to what I would call normal as to the weather systems approaching us from the South Americas...

Starting with tomorrow it smacks of the systems that were lined up for the 2017/2018 season and looking very similar...Sooo..heres hoping and hopefully will be giving some good positive feed back here soon soon!!!

Been scanning through this thread and got to 2015/2016 where the weather systems were looking good and I was landing kob on a regular basis....compared synoptics to the one as at 06h00 this morning and they are identical in set up ...and IF I look back towards the South Americas and what is approaching us in the week ahead...I can only say ..it SEEMS to be systems that will bring a balance back to our part of the coast...

As I mentioned in my previous post today , tides are looking normal once again...so ..lets see...

Mornings Folks, a quick report back on conditions as of yesterday...

Was down at my spot at 05h30 and low was at 10h00...sea was not up BUT the cold water is still hanging around , we have a low pressure that has gone through and a west that puffed and Im sure the warmer water has been dragged in closer to shore...

I must admit , I did see quite a bit of bait fish in the shallows , although the water was a tad grubby and very cold , my ole pool thermometer read 13...

I threw for about 2 hours and about an hour into the session got a proper rattle...Im sure it was a smallish kobbie BUT..sadly they will not comitt in the icey water...

This coming weekend has a 2 very promising looking systems and bodes well for some decent water conditions...tides are a bit awkward for my local spot but will work around that...

Stand by for further updates...

Mornings Folks ...well , I must admit it certainly does look good for a throw this weekend , especially tomorrow ...As you see that high is ridging in and we coming off of a low pressure and a west wind...The water looks good and the colour has cleaned up a heck of alot..temp should have also come up a bit...Tomorrow sees you with a neap low at 12h30 and on Sunday at 13h20...I say your best window will be tomorrow 2 hours to low as that baro will top out at around the 1028hpk mark and that west will be light air...you will need to get busy before that beastly eastly comes through in the afternoon...Sunday is actually the better fishing day , solunar wise , BUT...by 09h00 that beastly eastly will be puffing pretty stiff...Spots to look out for along our East Coast will be Glen Gariff and also the Cefane beach area on the outgoing...

TIGHT LINES and JUST GO FISH!!!
