Am report on our East Coast from Gonubie to Kei

  [size=78%]Mornings Folks , well as we enter the weekend we have a nice  cold front passing us and the barometer has bottomed out at 999hpk and the west  will get up to 50k gusts today and will puff still pretty strong for the most  part of tomorrow morning…[/size]
With the rain we had the past week , the Nahoon and Gonubie  rivers were flowing pretty briskly and with a result the shoreline between  Gonubie and Bonzas has turned a bit grubby and that BLAST of an east we had has  chilled the water all the way down to 14 , so , I bet the raggie fisherman  might just be smiling…
Normally when it rains a bit , spots like GlenGariff ,  Queensberry , Glen Navar and Muir stay pretty clean and this weekend are some  good early AM low tides for these spots as well as being fairly protected from  a stiff west….
Now , reports coming in of fish being caught has been very  quiet , unless thye fisherman are just keeping a low profile …with this in mind  we need to be mindful this weekend as a strong eastly groundswell can be  expected with an inshore swell possibly running between 6 to 9 foot , with two  large low pressures that have passed deep south this could very well produce a  fair surge as well..
 
With a low tide at 07h15 tomorrow and at 08h00 on Sunday ,  one must please be aware of the change of the tide as it turns to push ,  especially on those deep water points and one in particular Cintsa point…
I heard a distant rumour that two nice piggies came out at  Cefane this past week and that is also a place to check out with this coolish  water BUT not sure how easy it will be with the wind predicted as on Sunday as  that big high ridges in the wind will switch to a beastly eastly pretty quickly  by early AM…
Remember , along our Jikeleza , when conditions look adverse  and you still want to fish , there are many nooks and crannies you can find  where to hide from the gale winds and still have fun with blues and the humble  blacktails , on the note of blacktails , think twice before you keep one….
Well Folks that’s all for this weekend and of late the sea  has been a bit otherwise BUT for those fisherman who are prepared to be patient  and persevere will get the fish…

Mornings East Coasters , well , we have come off a dark moon spring and last weekends was a dismal fishing weekend , although I have , once again , heard of some piggies that have come out around the Kei mouth area BUT still no pics have come to light to prove this….
The west we have had the past three days has cleaned the water up very nicely and the temp has risen to a balmy 19 degrees and this , should , be a good sign for some decent fishing this weekend…
Tomorrow you have a high tide at 05h30 and on Sunday at 06h10 with a ground swell running at 4 to 6 foot BUT Sunday the two fronts that have slipped by the Cape will have pumped up that west drift ground swell to over the 7 foot mark , Sooo…Folks be alert for sudden surges , although we moving into a nip tide it shouldn’t be too bad….
With highs early AM its always good to give Glen gariff , Kwelergha , Queensberry and of course the Cefane area worth a look…Apparently on the high , the area between Glen Navaar and Muir is also worth a look…
On the stretch between Gonubie and Bonzas has been very quiet and one can only assume it has sanded up quite a bit….
Tomorrow and Sunday , should the sea not get too up you will see the usual blues fisherman during the midday plying their trade as that tide hits low and then starts to push….Please remember , with this cleaner water and the said temp there is always a chance of a poensie grabbing that well presented bait of yours and may I ask to show some restraint regarding these majestic fish….
The wind will be light north west tomorrow and for part of Sunday AM and as those two highs ridge in will change to east …
Well Folks , the pics of fish have been scarce and lets hope this weekend we get some report back of some fish that have been caught and please remember , pick up the litter!!!

  Mornings East Coasters and as we enter the final stages of winter and the anticipation of spring next month , we are still in for some chilly weather as a large cold front is about to smack into Cape Town as we speak AND as we know at times thes big fronts slip off into the big blue and at times miss us by BUT..be prepared for a chilly weekend.....
As this report goes out we have a NW devils wind puffing and air temp will go up a few notches today and also the little coastal low cruising past will assist that front approaching and the west will puff quiet steadly on Sunday AM......Tomorrow will see a fairly gently west with that coastal low and then pick up as that cold front touches down.....
Well , last weekend saw some Jikeleza locals get a few fish and maybe thats a good sign as summer approaches and this weekend we have excellent early AM tides and that is always good for our Jikeleza coast as most spots fish VERY well on a outgoing / low tide and especially early AM..
Tomorrow you have a low at 06h30 and on Sunday at 07h20 ...please note we are approaching a bright moon spring and always be aware as that tide changes and starts to push especially on those low water points...
The sea temp is around the 18 mark and its nice and clean ...with a westly ground swell running at between 4 to 6 foot and we once again hope no surge or sidewash , BUT we dont know how severe that front is off in the big blue...
Spots that come to mind would be Cintsa Point.....Bulugha Point , but you gotta get there early tomorrow before that west gets up....Cefane to the right of the river as that tide turns on the low always a good option for kob and even a piggie if you lucky.....Bonza Bay ledges are worth a check to see if those sanded up areas have been washed out a bit.....Another good area on these tides is Haga , especially near the beach towards Marsh strand,,,always fishes well for kob , and poensies and silvers with this nice clean crisp water...

  ..Well....fishing my side , personally, has been pretty SLLOOWW....to a point where last weekend was the first time in about 5 months....Sooo..time to get that 30 and Stimulator back into rythym and see IF the kobbies still like metal.....
