So after recently spinning for some bass at Rooikoppies i realized that all my 8ft spinning tackle is just not suited for that at all , so started looking for a light D/S setup that can be dual purpose for use in freshwater and saltwater, looked at a gazillion combo's of 6ft to 7ft rods , some pricey...
and some not
.. eventually went for a Berkley Cherrywood 7ft rated 7 to 28 grams cast weight and at a reasonable price as well , reel wise i stuck with a spinning reel as its for saltwater use as well , so needed something a bit robust but still small and light enough for ulta light to light tackle drop shot purposes in freshwater and estuaries etc... decided on a Exceler Z2500 ,(comes with a spare spool as well, and reasonabley priced ..
) this combination is really well balanced for both applications in my opinion ..... roll on spring/summer .
