Adventure Fishing Safaris - Updates and Reports
« on: April 09, 2013, 10:29:29 AM »
4 Days Bass Fishing at  Inanda Dam – April 2013

We had stunning weather for all 4 days, the dam was nice  and full and there was a lot of life around.

During the 4 days we caught over 120 Bass, and although  there were many juvenile Bass around we managed to get some decent fish in  amongst them, if we were fishing tournament we would have had a 5 fish bag for  each of the 6 sessions we fished. The pigs eluded us this trip with our best  fish being on the 2Kg mark. We also found a very large Kurper in trouble and we  helped him out. We all had a great time.

The camp site was set up and our dinners consisted of Boerewors  rolls, Chicken curry and Texan Steaks, with Bacon and Eggs for breakfast.

Whilst on the water we saw some amazing wild life with  some Fish Eagles taking first place, we also saw a massive Purple Heron, and several  Iguana, one of them was the biggest I have ever seen and he was in a tree, he  was massive and of crocodile proportions. We also came across a Darter that did  not have enough wing feathers to fly. On our way home we helped a Chameleon  across the road so he did not get knocked over.

He had been hooked up by someone and their line must have broke off on a stump, and he was still hooked up with the line on the stump

Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning was very busy, for the rest it was very quiet.
The campsite was nice and clean and so were the ablutions, only problem was the lights were not working in the ablutions
There is a new manager there at the site and he seems to have taken things under control, the place is much better than in the past, also they now have a guy that runs their patrol boat over the weekend and he makes sure everyone behaves and does a check up each evening all around the dam to make sure no one is in trouble.
There was also a certain blue boat with a radar dome on top that has taken it upon himself to police all the jet skis and water skiers that do their annoying stuff inside the 30m wake free zone
