Vioolsdrift Orange river (December Hook-up 2012)
« on: January 23, 2013, 11:59:03 AM »
So the family and I set off on our destination to Vioolsdrift from Cape Town. We arrived at about 14:30 at our camp site Aquacade.
Tempreture on arrival was 46 Deg. The boys were swimming while I was setting up camp in the sweltering heat.

See some pics attached.

The first day was really spent on swimming and cooling down in the water hole.
We were really impressed on our spot see pic.

The Next Day we spent fishing. Boy oh boy did the small yellow fish keep the boys busy.
These were the only fish caught through out the whole week.
We tried for barbel but nothing came out.

Overall we caught about  70-100  of these little buggers and were released safely.
We truly had a wonderful time out there.
I believe the orange river's eco system is truly magic and it was nice to see all the various species of insects, birds and spiders.

I look forward to my next trip  where you can go down the river on the canoes on fishing expedition.
