I'll be going to Roodeplaat this Sunday. Not the type of fishing you have at Roodekopjes but its close and there's water....... and they dont have a problem with my water scooter.

Guys, I am planning to go to Roodekoppies over the weekend, taking the caravan to Dennekruin.
I know the fishing is good, but what are your opinions regading the camping site?

a social after Easter sounds great, the Kurper will still be around and should be feeding well. Can someone suggest a date?

when I die, may my wife not sell my fishing tackle for what I told her I paid for it... and I have bought more, a severe case of TA

Right so Easter came and went and this is still on for anyone that wants to spend a day at the dam all those still interested add your names to the thread and the missus's and small ones are welcome to join as well , either a Sat or  Sun and proposed date is last weekend in May well lets call it 1st weekend of June  ( 1st/2nd) hopefully some fish might still be around , otherwise it will just be a social get together with some braaing and refreshments and some boating as well of course. :-)

Mike, at this stage we are in.  Deone's wife is having an op on Thursday so we should know by this weekend how she is going to recover.  The boat must still run lotsa hours till run in and can do its first 30hr service. Better to do it before she goes down to the sea.

Is there a solid slipway?

What facilities are there, braai/picnic?

Are we taking wives and children or will you arrange girls?

I picked up a pair of 30hp Johnsons complete with controls circa 1993 models for an R5000.00 , we are starting the change of motors tomorrow, my expert mechanic and some lifters are arriving in the morning. The motor  seller also has a little blitzy and does a lot of ltb fishing, he has upgraded to 40hp Evinrudes.I will encourage him to join the site.

My expert mechanic by the way is an elderly Portugese fella who walks 7-10kms every day and is a qualified Evinrude Johnson mechanic if any one needs assistance, particularly on the older motors

You can launch at the old Northern Transvaal grounds or Dennekruin, both have easy launch sites and ablution blocks etc. Dennekruin fees were R80 , Adolf posted this somewhwere in the beginning of the thread , so im guessing this is where  we go .
