You had that Zambi on, the fight sounded just like ours when we hooked him up. We had him at the boat on 50lb and that was already a tough one so no chance on 30lb. You buddy is back Rich  :hehe:

I'm not sure that a big Zambie will hold onto a mono leader for so long, the head shake is not typical of a shark, they normally just pull, sounds more like like a bus GT

Ok but normally a shark just pulls and doesn't head shake that much which is why I thought of a bus GT which does that and it's tough to handle on a 30lb set up, what reel was it?

So After leaving the Harbour and getting some pis of a FAT GIRL on her way to chase some  :billf: ..   I headed to the deeper side of No 1 for some small Tuna.. water was   Blue and Clean and ranged between 26 and 28 deg... but with little life   and nothing interested in our lures i decided to go do some bottom   fishing... conditions where great with little or no current we managed   to fish some deep water.. on our first down we found some nice slingers   about the size of dinner plates... second down again and them some   snapper.. 5 th down returned a nice Captain Fine weighed at 16.2kg.. we   where going to release it but as we got her to the boat we could see the   blacktips circling below and she had some baro trauma! so we put her in   the hatch to be enjoyed on the same down the other 3 guys also had some   good hook ups but as hard as we tried non of them made it past the  :shrk: so i decided that it would be best to move and try some where else!
As we arrived at the next set of marks we quickly dropped lines and   found our self onto a nice school of Snapper also nice and big and and   also managed a couple of false englishmen. and a rosy goat fish.. which   we released as they are just to pritty to eat... as my client put it!

all in all a good day off the bottom

As a rule on the boat if those gray marlin are around while we are bottom fishing I move away... don't want to encourage them to be around the boat!
