Turst me, it hurts like hell.  Within minutes my hand looked like a boxing glove.

What seemed to help best was to submerge my hand in very hot water.

Or maybe it was the brandies...

Been there done that, stood on one to prevent it from slidding down a little slip way i was fishing on, stuck through my tekkie and the spike broke off in my shoe, my foot went black and the all the skin on my foot peeled off 2 weeks later...nasty little buggers

I feel your pain Adam... I'm sure the brandys did the trick..LOL

Hot water, as hot as possible. If you ever deep sea and get spiked, start the motors and put it under the jets from the cooling.

Or wee on it also.
