Hey shaun17.any updates on the isailor maps;screen shots of detailed charts etc. for fishing.I'm unfortunately no good at these things and go by word of mouth mainly.

I got the Navionics application for Android, and must say as much as I can't compare to chart plotters, it's a fantastic app! Well worth the money and I can't wait to test it out on the kayak, found a few interesting looking drop offs and structure just around the corner from where I normally fish.

It's for a Samsung Note, so half tablet half phone, and now a GPS chart plotter with the ability to make the odd phone call if needed.....

It's definately worth it...
It makes garmin and lowrance mapping looking like it's from the 1800's
I have both and i paid alot of money for them...which kinda leaves a bitter taste in my mouth but
what is done is done
 
For $ 24.99 it's the best bargain of your fishing career
 
Every single high point/pinnacle that I know or have is in very good detail.
 
You can plan routes and measure distances.
 
Shows wrecks and other hazards....just like a proper professional chart

hey south coastspearo.can u please post a pic of any one of ur high points/pinnacles from ur isailor app. i downloaded the cpt to djibouti maps on my iPad  but am very disappointed in the levels of detail . its like a skeletal of the garmin g2vision maps which i have.ur comparison  to garmin/lowrance must be upsidedown or am i missing something major on mine?.thanks

i downloaded the navionics for my samsung tablet and dont know if im viewing it right but found the contour lines quite far apart and also cannot view any wrecks

Wrecks are marked with a dotted circle with a H like symbol in the middle - zoom in and you'll see "wk" next to it. I think the contours are in 5m intervals, and they are quite accurate where I've checked!

Yep, that looks right - there is a gentle slope off Durban harbour - zoom in to just south of the South Pier and you'll see quite a drop off.
 
Here's a picture of the Umhlanga barge (the Fonteo I think) that I've saved as a waypoint and have  the Google maps as an overlay so got my beach launch sites all arranged so I can measure distances, and find my way back to the car...

I bought the Navionics Platinum last month, and downloaded the PC App. I'm pretty sure i'm not doing something right because the contour definition is exactly the same as the standard Navionics??

Anyone got any advice? I've checked out some tutorials on Youtube and see that its possible... 

Lastly, how does the NavPlanner fall into all of this.....
