Saturday turned out to be a glorious day.So we set off to pump prawn and then off to Spreeuwalle. To our surprise the water was 13,6 deg. When the first prawn hit the bottom,it was vas with a 42 cm Stump, fighting hard on the light tackle. In no time we had full quota.Gerhard came on anchor next to me,had a couple of youngsters that chartered him,but they only had pilchard.Being keen, each held the rod in hand while we were watching with the rod in the holder.Next moment it all came together and a very nice 6kg Kob surfaced. Two at a time and we just had to get some pilchard from Gerhard...but still no Kob..every time the hook just returned completely clean,no bait on it.Ok.so here`s the trick...these Kob still felt the cold and took the bait with a very tiny nibble, you almost have to imagine it and certainly will not feel it if your rod is in the holder.A lovely day with lots of fresh Stumps and Kob...thank goodness the fish is back....
