Moz sport & Recreational fishing licenses fees

This was posted on another thread but I figured it would be better to have it here as other members may find it useful and easier to find...

Recreational and Sport Fishing License Fees
as per the Sport & Recreational Regulation, Decree 51/99 of 31 August. 

1. MONTHLY
1.1 Nationals
 i) line fishing = 200.00 Mts
ii) spear fishing = 250.00 Mts
 
1.2 Foreigners
i) line fishing = 400.00 Mts
ii) spear fishing = 500.00 Mts
 
2. QUARTERLY
2.1 Nationals
 i) line fishing = 600.00 Mts
ii) spear fishing = 750.00 Mts
 
2.2 Foreigners
i) line fishing = 1,200.00 Mts
ii) spear fishing = 1,500.00 Mts
 
3. ANNUAL
3.1 Nationals
 i) line fishing = 400.00 Mts
ii) spear fishing = 500.00 Mts
 
3.2 Foreigners
i) line fishing = 800.00 Mts
ii) spear fishing = 1,000.00 Mts
 
Second-time issuing for all licenses 100,000.00 Mts (in case you loose your license).

To land a billfish, one should get separate license (Trophy license = 150,00 Mts)

According to the same Regulation the fines for fishing without a license may vary from 50,000.00 - 100,000.00 Mts.

The fine for the possession of a protected species: 8,000.00-10,000.00 Mts / piece

Marco so the linefishing fro a boat monthly is around R80 am I correct? any idea what the procedure is launching and paying in ponta these days?

Yes R80...
The whole thing is more organized and strict these days... the rangers WILL check your boat for licenses and catches on the beach... make sure YOU DO NOT launch without your licenses... not sure how much is the launching fee these days... will find out and post it here...

Go to the Maritimo office with your paper work (skippers and seaworthy, etc.), pay your launching fees and get fishing licenses for each angler on board (these are individual licenses)... that's all...

Greg,

The launching fee is 600 Mts (~R120.00) and it's valid up 1 month or equivalent to the temporary import permit of your boat/vehicle...

Heard about some MPAs trying to implement a licensing system for R&S...
